This Kirkwood home got an interior refresh from the ceilings down: walls, crown molding, ceilings, trim, and doors. The existing finish had yellowed over the years, which flattened the rooms and hid the detail in the millwork.
What we did
- Prep first. Walls washed, nail holes and dings filled, and everything sanded smooth before any paint went on. On an older home, the prep is most of the job.
- Walls and ceilings repainted in fresh, light neutrals that let the natural light back in.
- Crown molding, trim, and doors repainted in a clean white so the arched doorways and built-ins stand out again.
The result
The house reads as bright and well maintained instead of tired. Same layout, same furniture, completely different feel. Kirkwood and the surrounding St. Louis suburbs are full of homes like this one, where the right prep and paint do more than any single renovation would.
