Lombard is a village located in DuPage County, Illinois, and serves as a suburb of Chicago. The village has a population of 43,395 and is situated approximately 20 miles west of downtown Chicago. Lombard was originally part of the Potawatomi Native American landscape. The modern village was officially incorporated in 1869 and was named after Chicago banker and real estate developer Josia Lewis Lombard.
