South Elgin is a village located in Kane County, Illinois, and serves as a suburb of Chicago. The village was originally called “Clintonville” in honor of early settler James Clinton and adopted its current name in 1907. South Elgin is situated in the Fox River Valley and is bordered to the north by the city of Elgin and to the east by the village of Bartlett. The village is approximately 40 miles away from Chicago.
